Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a Brand Identity and Media Marketing Designer from Lagos, Nigeria. I specialize in shaping the visual identity of brands, communities and events. I love working with vector Illustrations, patterns and colors. I love exploring good foods, and beautiful designs makes my heart skip beats, which is why I can’t help but create them, and make them functional ;)
As a brand designer, I have found myself drawn more towards creating visuals for brands in the wellness industry, especially food brands. I am currently the brand marketing designer at Path4Her, a non – profit organization focused on highlighting product-driven careers in the technology space for young women and teenage girls in Africa.
Quite a lot of people inspire me creatively.
One of them is Fungi Dube. I am mesmerized by the fact that her work is heavily influenced by the delicate yet profound nuances that are embedded into Afrikan cultures like natural elements, patterns, textures, historic writings, symbols and color as a form of visual and global communication. She designs so beautifully!
Another person that has had a great influence on my creative approach to certain projects is Stephen Ormandy, an artist whose work is born of the subconscious mind. He looks for vibration and rhythm, the play of line creating positive and negative space, searches for tonal balance through contrast or harmony, while developing chroma relationships that hug or repel. His works have a great influence on how my mind works when it comes to creative thinking.
I wanted to become a Gynecologist (I’m currently a student of Human Physiology, ironical!). I don’t think that has in any way influenced my design career. No, I wouldn’t.
