Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a 22-year-old Zimbabwean graphic designer building a creative career with intention and curiosity. Design, for me, is both a profession and a form of expression. I’m always exploring where strategy and creativity meet. I’m especially passionate about raising the standard of design locally while staying connected to global creative conversations. At the end of the day, I’m just someone who loves building things from ideas and watching them evolve into something real.

I’m inspired by designers who push beyond execution and focus on ideas. One creator who has really influenced the way I think is Jason Swet. His work challenges designers to move from simply making things look good to thinking conceptually and shaping narratives through ideas. What resonates with me most is his perspective on the power of the mind in the creative process, how shifting the way you think can elevate a designer from being purely technical to becoming a strategic thinker.

Layout and Conceptual ideation

I was one of the 5 winners in the Canva design challenge in Africa, then became a Canva Creator.

Too many designers are trained to become highly skilled operators of tools – people who know how to make things look good or follow trends. But the real value of a creative professional isn’t just in execution; it’s in ideas, perspective, and narrative-building. When designers are positioned only as executors, they become replaceable. When they are positioned as thinkers, they become strategic partners in shaping brands and culture.
