Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a texting artist and jewelry designer. I play around with beads and yarn, making functional and wearable art pieces. I have made numerous tufted rugs, keychains and flower pots

I’m inspired by nature and the people around me. I like to travel the country, meet people and learn new experiences. This helps me grow as a person and an artist

I usually find beauty in the process, sometimes more than the finish. I enjoy starting projects & working on them so much sometimes, finishing makes me sad or doesn’t bring the satisfaction that the process does. It is as much my superpower as it is my kryptonite.

I was featured in an art exhibition last year alongside other great artists in Kumasi, Ghana.

I will change how people view creating/making art. I understand that in the world we live in today, it’s nearly impossible to feel like your art is valid if you do not get external validation in terms of money or praise, but I think what need to be doing is creating art of the sake of creating. Not feeling like you’re wasting time or wasting money when making something you love & enjoy. Even if our art doesn’t see the light of day, I think it is important to enjoy the process & do the work regardless because that is where the real power is.
I also understand that this is a privilege not many have because the system we are living in simply cannot sustain it and so I wish this is something that would change.
