Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m a digital illustrator, from Togo/Ghana and my passion is creating illustrations that portray the beauty and culture of people of color. It is my hope that other people can see my drawings and be able to see themselves and be inspired to embrace their beauty.
Princella Seripenah (@artbyprincella) inspires me because she’s the perfect example that art has no limits. I love how she uses different mediums to tell her story and share her craft—it’s a constant reminder for me not to box myself in and to explore every creative avenue that excites me. Plus, she’s an absolute gorgeous woman!
Funny enough, I wanted to be an artist when I was a kid. But somewhere along the way, that passion got pushed aside by the countless people telling me, “You can’t make a living off art.” The thing is, no matter how much you ignore it, your passion never really leaves you. So I finally decided to go for it—and honestly, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
